Go to the airports long distance station “Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf” that is located directly at the airport. From there hourly direct services to Würzburg’s central station “Würzburg Hbf” are offered with less than 90 Minutes of traveltime. For timetable information consult the website of Deutsche Bahn. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the station or on the train (This only applies to long distance Trains: ICE, IC, EC, D).

If you wan to save money you can take regional trains and travel in groups. For travelling from Frankfurt we suggest you use the Quer-durchs-Land Ticket for groups up to five persons costing 44€ for the first user and 8€ for each additional user. For using this you go to “Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Regionalbf” and take the S-Bahn to Frankfurt Central Station “Frankfurt(Main) Hbf” and there switch to a Regional Express (RE) to Würzburg’s central station “Würzburg Hbf”. This variant takes up to two and a half hours. For timetable information consult the website of Deutsche Bahn. The used ticket only allows to use regional trains (IRE, RE, RB, S). Tickets have to be purchased in advance online or at the station and can not be purchased on the train.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the station or on the train (This only applies to long distance Trains: ICE, IC, EC, D). If you purchase in advance you can book the City Option including the Subway in your ticket (if you are in Germany on a regular basis and use a BahnCard this is included for free). Otherwise you need to purchase a separate Ticket at the subway. The used ticket only allows to use regional trains (IRE, RE, RB, S) and local bus, tram and subway services. The expected travel time is one hour and twenty minutes.

Würzburg is placed at a central point in the German rail network and is serviced by long distance and regional trains.

In some cases it can be reasonable to purchase rebate cards (called “BahnCard”) from Deutsche Bahn. In these cases please remember to cancel these cards, since they will be charged on annual basis otherwise.

Take Bus Line 14 to “Mathematisches Institut”, when you exit go right and you see the Computer Science Building.
Take Bus Line 114 to “Universitätszentrum”, when you exit go up the stairs and keep heading straight. When you arrive at a larger meadow surrounded by buildings pass the big building right in front of you (the Physics Building) on the right and you will arrive at the Computer Science Building.
Take Bus Line 214 to “Hubland/Mensa”, when you exit, cross the road and go up the stairs and keep heading straight. General Information
Busses and trams are service until shortly after midnight, select lines until 1 a.m. Tickets can be purchased directly in the busses. For the tram the ticket needs to be purchased at the station. If you plan to use the public transport multiple times we suggest you buy the “6er-Karte” which can be used for up to 6 rides.
